The SkyWay tour walkway and bridges have been built with the concern of your safety in mind. All our tours are guided and the path's structure comply with industry-standard guidelines and security regulations.
Details:
Which is the best hour / season for touring?
We highly recommend to make the Skyway Tour early in the morning (6 a.m onwards), when most birds in the area are up and are most active and climate is much less hotter than usual, which makes the best opportunity for photo shoots. High Season (December-April) is the best time, but Costa Rica's climate features mostly sunny mornings, even in "Green Season".
How long does it take?
Depending on your pace, completing the SkyWay Tour can take you from 90 to 120 minutes.
How do I book a SkyWay Tour?
This and all of our Villa Lapas tours can be booked at the Front Desk upon your arrival.
What should/shouldn't I bring along for the Tour?
You may definitely want to bring your camera along. A cap / hat and sunglasses are also recommended. However we suggest that the lighter your carrying weight gets, the better.
Is the Skyway tour operable on green (rainy) season?
Of course. Should rain occur during the tour, we will provide you a waterproof poncho to wear on. The tour is operable during rainy season unless there is risk of electric storms.
What should I wear?
You should wear comfortable clothing for the tour. Most of our clients do the tour in shorts, T-shirts and running shoes. Long pants are fine, but skirts or dresses are not. Bug repellent and / or sunblock are also recommended however we suggest these to be applied prior to starting the tour rather than carrying them along. Closed-toe shoes are recommended however strap-on sandals are acceptable. You may not do the tour in bare feet. During the rainy season (May -November) lightweight rain gear is recommended.
How safe is it?
All of the SkyWay tour structure is constantly supervised under international safety standards. Bridges get repainted every six months, are protected against rust and corrosion, and can support up to 23 tons in weight, to ensure you the safest tour possible. The bridge's guardrails are covered by heavy chain link fence at a reasonable height, so children won't accidentally fall over.
